Onsite Massage Frequently Asked Questions

onsite-massage-faqWhat is Onsite Massage?

Onsite massage is a form of Acupressure massage carried out in specially designed chairs. It is great for offices, expos and wellbeing days, as well as sporting events, conferences and wherever there is a gathering of people who need to concentrate, may be stressed and need to revitalise themselves.

How does Onsite Massage work?

Acupressure and Shiatsu Chair massage releases tension in the body and allows the blood to circulate, it relieves tight necks, backs and shoulders, can reduce eye strain and headaches. Onsite massage is a great way to boost morale and give something back to your team.

Do you come to us or do we come to you?

At Onsite Massage London one (or more) of our trained, insured and experienced massage therapists would be happy to come out to your office, event or wellbeing day to treat your team on site in your business location. Which minimises the disruption to your office day or event, and is just a very convenient way for you to look after your staff team.

Why should we choose your company to provide Onsite Massage for us?

That is a very good question! Besides the obvious answers of: We are really nice people, give great massages and will do our best to relieve your every stress and strain in the time available… We are also a company set up and run by massage therapists, so giving great service and great stress relief are our key concerns. We aren’t in it just for the money (but we do have bills to pay, naturally) We also give a Guarantee that if any of your staff doesn’t feel significantly less stress after their massage, the next one is Free! We do ask that they give it 24 hours for the massage to do its magic, but if they haven’t had a significant reduction in neck, back or shoulder tension (eg from a 10 to a 5 or a 6 to a 3) then the next one is on us! How do payment and bookings work for Onsite Massage?

Your company can either pay all, some or none of the cost of the massage.  We have an online booking system set up where employees can pay their portion via PayPal and secure their slot.  We also send out automatic confirmation and reminder emails so that everyone remembers their slots and turns up to get their massage 🙂  If you want to try out our online booking system you can give it a go here

At Onsite Massage London we usually do a minimum booking of 3 hours, at £60 per hour or £180 minimum booking. That can be for 6, 9 or 12 people and works out at £15 for 15 minutes, £20 for 20 minutes or £30 for 30 minutes. (we can set the system up for 15-minute sessions and people can book a double slot if desired). For regular (monthly) clients and larger companies, we can reduce this rate somewhat, depending on the number and frequency of sessions. What can Onsite Shiatsu Massage help?

Onsite Shiatsu massage is great for so many office related conditions and complaints.  People with tight backs, backs and shoulders, RSI/OOS, eye strain and headaches respond well to the acupressure element of onsite massage. Those that are struggling with stress, workload demands, lack of motivation or burnout are also great candidates for Shiatsu Chair massage.  You can also reward your sales team for achieving targets, they’ll certainly appreciate the recognition as well as the massage!

What can’t Onsite Massage help?

There is no substitute for proper medical care, so if anyone is suffering from serious medical issues it’s best to send them to the doctor or A&E, not to a massage therapist!  Of course, once the crisis is over, an onsite massage may well be the perfect thing to get you back to feeling yourself again.  Before the first massage session, you will receive a health screening form to ensure you are fit and healthy enough to have a massage. You will also have a short consultation with the massage therapist before each massage session and have a chance to discuss any health concerns (in the context of receiving a massage), remember that most of us are not actually doctors!

Who is Onsite Massage for?

Onsite Massage is for everyone! It can benefit anyone at all, but especially those that spend long hours working at a desk and computer screen. It’s great for those under pressure, working long hours, facing deadlines or finishing a project.

What sort and size of companies do you work with?

While we are a smaller company ourselves, we still have access to a large number of massage therapists, so unless you have 20,000 people you want to be massaged on the same day, we will do our best to meet and exceed your requirements. That said if you are a large national firm then you may be better off to go for one of the bigger corporate wellbeing companies, as they will have a lot of therapists on their books and a national team to support your booking.

We are primarily London based and prefer to work in our area. We tend to work more with smaller companies of 20 – 200 employees and also with the new phenomenon of Co-Working spaces, such as the Google Campus and TechHub in Moorgate.

We’re always happy to discuss your specific needs and requirements, and can be flexible in terms of whether the company or employees pay (many of the larger corporate wellbeing companies don’t have the time or energy to deal with smaller firms, so that is where we step in)
